DISCAIMERS:

Make sure to check my gallery to make sure you know you want a commission! I’m better at some things than I am at others, but will do the best I can with your commission. It's also probably a good idea to have a rummage through my gallery incase you see something similar to what you want. I have the right to turn down commission requests.

will draw:

-Fanart

-Ponies

-OCs

-From photo reference

-Mild nudity (breasts and butts, but no wieners)

-Animals

won’t draw:

-Anything overly sexual

-Certain fanart

-Anything overly complicated, e.g. super complicated mechs/machinery

-Anything that makes me uncomfortable. don't be scared to ask though!

MY RIGHTS:

By commissioning me you acknowledge and agree to all of the below unless exceptions have been agreed upon in private conversation.

- I own the artwork and can post it to DA and any other site.

- You may not resell my artwork, use it for commercially, or for promotion of a commercial project.

- You may use sketch and line art commissions to practice your lines and colouring when credit is given.

- You may not remove my signature from commissions, unless they are sketch/lineart commissions you have used for practice and have given credit.

- You cannot cancel a commission after you have payed me, this is because I often start straight away after receiving payment and to avoid people demanding unreasonable design changes.

- If you are not satisfied with the piece I will not give refunds or redo the piece, however if I have missed minor details that have already been agreed to, and you would like me to add them in, if possible without ruining the piece I will add them in.

- You may not claim my artwork as your own, or trace or heavily reference my work and claim it as your own.

- Should there be any reason I cannot finish a piece, I will offer you either the work that I have done for the price it is posted as with a refund for the remainder of the cost, or a full refund.

How long will the commission take?

I currently take between a few hours and a week or two depending on complexity/if I'm able to start straight away.

Feel free to ask how your commission is going at any time, though I don't encourage asking for progress shots, as it would take away from the time I could be spending finishing your commission, unless you have commissioned something large/complex.

Payment/how to commission me:

- Check if my status is open, if commissions are closed, watch me and I'll put up a journal the next time my commissions are open.

- Send me a note!(if you dont have a dA account, you can email me at babakinkin@gmail.com), you may send me questions about commissions at any time.

- A commission form can be found in the next section if you're not sure what I need to know.

- Wait for me to reply and discuss the commission, Once I have your paypal e-mail I can send you an invoice for the payment.

- Send the money agreed on. I will begin working on your commission once I have received the payment and references.

- I must receive full payment and reference for the piece before i start working on a commission, or half up front if its a larger piece, though in this case I can't send the finished piece until I receive the other half of the payment.

hey!! im totally in love with your art and would love to commission you but i cant use paypal, would you take payment through a commission widget? i would get the right amount of points so when deviantart takes away their 20% it still leaves you with the price youre asking for, of course!! thank you :D

I got here from your YouTube video and this has really helped me with starting a commission. I am absolutely new to this whole commission thing and I am clueless to what it even is. I thought about turning my hobby of drawing to help me in earning money. I'm always going to look at this commission info as a reference (if you don't mind) to guide me along. Thank you so much <3

Your commission journal looks so slick! I am considering doing commissions myself, but kinda afraid that my skill is not up to par yet to start them.
If I would, would it be okay to use the set up of your journal (obviously changed to own prices/disclaimers and whatnot)? Took on a commission and I can hit myself for not making some things clear written out beforehand. The whole lot is finished now and I didn't get paid. Should've set it up in a journal like you did really. :<

You know what the worst bit is? I watched your video regarding the topic!
But because it is for a friend of a friend (with my friend being the middle man) that I was a bit shy to ask for money upfront.
When I mentioned the price, it was all no problem. They have my bank details (cause they didn't have paypal) and now the waiting game has started.
Don't think they would screw me over, but it sucks that I still don't have it though. They want me to draw something else now, but I think I will wait until I have the payment for the first thing in..

Yeah no you are right, if it wasn't a friend asking I would not have done it like this to be fair.
But looking back I think it would have been smart to ask for cash upfront. :')

Are the sketch comms kinda a sketch page like you have or just individual sketches o3o?

Individual, though i make the finished sketches a lot nicer than the stuff in sketch pages(i only really do sketch pages to try and work out my own characters so theyre not as clean, theyre more there as a style example), i've got examples of how i do sketch commissions here; babakinkin.deviantart.com/art/…

It's ridiculous.... I just took a writing job for 1.50USD per 500 words. And I live in one of the most expensive countries in the world, Denmark. People expect everything for free these days.

I would totally pay more for your work, when I can afford it :)

AH!! this is completely like... related but not related to this post but like...
i'm gearing up to start doing commissions and i was wondering if you had any advise? never really done it before and im honestly kinda nervous.
any advise would be fantastic!! and i figured that asking someone who does commissions a lot would be better than diving head first and possibly smacking my head into concrete |'D

eyyy man its fine C:

hmmm idk ill probably remember useful stuff later so expect another horribly typed reply later ahha

-first off ehhh do some examples n keep kickin stuff out so you have up to date examples.

-make sure you type out terms and stuff, i based mine off an example one i found on here and editied it, feel free to copy stuf i have in mine if ya want bc hooo boy they are really difficult to write

-be ready for people to not even read all that shit you typed out and ask you many many stupid and obvious questios regardless of if you give them the link to it or not

-go into detail about what they want so that no one is confused and ends up payin for stuff they didnt want

- dont undersell yourself, you can start off slightly cheaper n then raise your prices but dont be doin stuff for stupid cheap, its better to have people not want to pay than to be givin you peanuts for hours of work, thatll hurt you and everyone else whos tryin to sell art

-share what youre thinkin about the commission, ask if the client is ok with you experimentig a bit and going with your own ideas or if theyd prefer you stick to exactly what they want.

-be wary about people askin for free concept sketches/examples, people will ask for free stuff and ya shouldnt feel obliged to give it, i usually try to only do concept sketches for large commissions, thoUGH I WILL DO SIMPLE STICK FIGUREY STUFF/BLOCKED OUT COMPOSITION IF PEOPLE ASK

-get ready for people being confused about currency/not bothering to ask about what your prices are in their currency or trying to convert it (((u wouldnt beleve how often this happens srsly)))

-make sure youre always improving and if you genuinely dont think you can handle something, dont take a commission where youd have to do it when you have no idea how to, though you should go and study it so you can do it if someone else asks for it

-dont be scared to say a payment is wrong or if youre not willing to do something, you should write out your terms and stuff first so you can stick by them, if someone is a dick just dont bother with them, otherwise if you stand by your guns people will usually respect you and sort out correct payments or whatever

-dont be bummed if youre not gettin any commissions, just think of it as more time to improve which will get you more in the long run

-post in the forums, especially the job offers one, i always look through and post if i think i could handle a job someone is asking with help for.

-make it a priority when you do get a commission, itll give you a good reputation and to be able to say that you can get a small commish done on the same day is p nice, and more potential for jobs

-talk to people, as in just other poeple who are lurking ((i like the forums for this))) and the people who are asking about commissions, just be nice yo its good for the reputation again. im sorta doin this with youtube because the more people see you as an actual person who talks and helps them with stuff the more theyll like you

-if someone has an idea for what they want then try and improve it if you can, if they prefer that then great, but if they want their idea then dont argue just go with it

-leave links to your commission stuff whenever you post anything anywhere lol

ok tahts all i can come up with rn friend i hope it made sense its difficult for me to write coherently ahha

-theres another one you should write coherently liek use capitals and ''''these things, aye,,, dont sound like a rite fuckin chav m8 unless the person is chill or somethin heh B)

yeah good luck tho man!! feel free to come n bother me again if you need more help bc hooo boy did i struggle when i was startin :0

hey there! id love to grab some coms if possible : >
but before you accept i just want you to know ive never had to pay in pounds before?
it seems there's an easy conversion rate process on paypal but if youre skeptical youre free to decline
i can also pay in points via commission widget which you can withdraw into paypal
(this would be preferred as i have way more points than USD but is totally not necessary)

yea man what were you thinkin~

ono its fine to do the conversion thing through paypal, ive had other people do it from dollars and whatnot, i can always send you a request for the money if youre scared of messin up with gettin the correct amount and stuff?

sorry dude i dont use the commission widget i dont really like messin with points and stuff

its your decision anyways C:
